Concrete from the adjacent (no planning permission) construction site is blocking the drain in the gulley at the bottom of Hughenden Avenue, next to the bus stop, Hughenden Stream and the public footpath, just north of the mini roundabout with Hughenden Road..

Concrete has poured out from the (apparently no planning permission) construction site at the bottom of Hughenden Avenue and is all over the pavement and road gulley and has blocked the drain. It is a site connected with 125 Hughenden Road and sits behind that property. It seems that Gulf Builders are doing the concrete. There doesn't seem to be any planning permission for the construction and neighbours have had to endure daily construction noise (including on a Sunday); bonfires (the fire brigade had to put out a massive one in May); the erection of large fences along the public footpath; as well as the loss of multiple mature trees with nesting birds. Now the road is at risk of flooding when it rains, due to the blocked drain, and there is a possibility that that Hughenden Stream may become polluted.

This has been passed to the Highway Officer to investigate.
We know that an important part of any road network is the drainage system which is designed to carry water away from the road surface. Even when a gully is clean and well maintained it will only cope with a certain volume of water at one time, a sudden and heavy downpour can still cause flooding especially if the road is in a low lying area.
The Highway Officer is only able to inspect the drain when the water has cleared away, this will be done within 10 days and if required, an order will be raised to clear the drain.
