As Residents of Hamilton Place no 1 Orchile Rise, Gerrards Cross we suffer from anti social behaviour and a poor access to our ste via the public path that is on the south and east boundary of our site. Recently Mr Adrian Leslie of Neighbourhood Services Buckinghamshire Council contacted us to request removal of offensive graffiti on the rear garage wall at Hamilton Place accessed via the above-mentioned public path. Our agent, Leete Estate Management (LEM), responded in agreement that the graffiti is unsightly but that HPRA is powerless to prevent this anti-social behaviour by members of the public. HPRA have also proposed that improved lighting and CCTV cameras should be installed to help deter and perhaps help to identify the graffiti taggers.
Additionally, the footpaths around Hamilton Place are unsafe in and require repair. They provide a number of serious trip hazards to the public and the elderly residents at Hamiliton Place.
Mr Leslie advised LEM that maintaining pathways is the responsibility of the Council Public Right of Way Team. He also advised that CCTV cameras are the responsibility of the Council Enforcement Team. We therefore respectfully request that our concerns regarding footpath security and safety are passed to the appropriate teams. Once the necessary action to improve footpath security is put in place it will hopefully deter future offensive graffiti.

This has been passed to our Street Scene Team, if the graffiti is offensive or racist, we will arrange to have it removed as a priority all other graffiti will be removed as soon as possible.

The report has been passed to the Highway Officer, who will carry out an inspection of the issue within 10 working days, emergency defects will be corrected or made safe at the time of the inspection, if reasonably practicable to do so. In this context, making safe may constitute displaying warning notices, coning‐off or fencing‐off to protect the public from the defect or other suitable action. If the inspection team cannot make safe the defect at the time of inspection, then they will instigate the relevant emergency call procedures to ensure appropriate resources are mobilised to make the defect safe.
There may also be occasions when the issue reported will not be repaired as it has been classified as a minor defect and does not pose any risk to either the safety or the integrity of the highway, these are called minimum recording levels as specified in our Highways Safety Inspection Policy.
