A board placed on Valley Road junc Boss Lane

Reported via desktop in the Unauthorised signs category anonymously at 22:57, Sunday 14 June 2026

Sent to Hughenden Parish Council 1 week, 1 day, 18 hours, 47 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 9619951.

This A board has been placed at a busy junction with a roundabout. It distracts drivers using the roundabout and has been cable tied to street furniture. The business already has three other similar signs on the opposite side of the road. I understand public liability insurance must also be in place in case of accidents (trips/falls). Please can it be removed? It cannot be right that people just place board on the public highway where they like, otherwise the place would be overrun with them.

Updates

  • The Highway Officer will attend the site plotted on the map and make arrangements for the unauthorised sign to be removed.

As part of our highway management strategy, unauthorised signs will be removed from the highway, removal will be prioritised according to highway safety, resource requirements and the interests of the community. The Council may exercise their discretion not to enforce in some situations (e.g., small scale charity events).

These signs will be held for 28 days and there will be a storage fee of the unauthorised signs that do not comply with this policy where applicable.
