Bar Lane, Longwick, along the stretch between the houses on Bar Lane and the entry into the village where the speed limit changes from 60 to 30

Reported via desktop in the Grass cutting category anonymously at 12:06, Friday 1 May 2026

Sent to Longwick-cum-Ilmer Parish Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9384754.

The grass and verge along this section of Bar Lane are heavily overgrown and are encroaching onto the road. There is no pavement so residents and visitors walk and cycle on the road between the houses and the village. The overgrowth significantly reduces visibility for both drivers and pedestrians. This section is at the transition from a 60 mph limit to 30 mph into Longwick. Vehicles often approach at higher speeds and visibility around the bend is limited. Walkers and cyclists are not easily visible until the last moment which creates a serious safety risk. Regular cutting back of the vegetation is needed to restore clear sight lines and make the route safer for all road users.
