Dangerous phasing

Reported via mobile in the Traffic lights & crossings problems with timings category anonymously at 18:19, Monday 20 April 2026

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9325712.

Traffic going west on the a40 sometimes gets a green light at the same time as traffic turning right up plomer hill and sometimes has a red light during the pedestrian lights while traffic turning has a green light. Drivers expect both lights to go green together (as they usually do when pedestrian crossing not in use) and so frequently in error drive west on the a40 through the red lights when the pedestrian lights are going. Another near miss at 1810 20/04/26 with kids almost run over by a white car. The phasing needs to be changed so all cars have a red light when the pedestrian crossing is in use because drivers are repeatedly getting confused and driving at pedestrians.
