Parking on double yellow lines, grass, blocking fire exist & car park gate

Reported via mobile in the Parking in a restricted space category anonymously at 22:14, Wednesday 8 April 2026

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9261093.

The situation has become increasingly dangerous and unmanageable. Public parking in the area is consistently blocked, preventing parents and staff from safely entering and leaving the premises. Vehicles are frequently obstructing the nursery entrance and car park gate, making it impossible at times for people to exit.

Of particular concern is that cars are regularly parked in front of the fire exit. This poses a severe safety risk, as in the event of a fire or emergency, safe evacuation would be compromised. Additionally, disabled parking bays are often occupied by vehicles without the appropriate badge, further disadvantaging those who rely on these spaces.

There are also persistent issues with illegal and inconsiderate parking, including vehicles parked on double yellow lines, on grass verges, and in positions that block access routes. The area has become dangerously congested, and this is the worst it has been in recent years.

Despite numerous complaints being made previously, no effective action appears to have been taken. It is extremely concerning that these ongoing issues continue to be ignored, putting both children and adults at risk.

Furthermore, there have been repeated instances of members of the public smoking cannabis directly outside the nursery. This behaviour is wholly inappropriate and creates an unsafe and unhealthy environment for young children.

Immediate action is required to address these concerns. We urge the council to implement stricter parking enforcement, improve monitoring, and take appropriate measures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone using the nursery.

Updates

  • This has been passed to the Parking Services Team.

Subject to available resources, a civil enforcement officer (traffic warden) will go and assess, and if a vehicle is parked in contravention of a parking restriction, a penalty charge notice may be issued.
