Peters Lane, Monks Risborough

Reported via mobile in the Blocking a private drive category anonymously at 11:38, Tuesday 3 March 2026

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9036185.

I want to raise ongoing concerns about parking and road safety on my street during school pick-up and drop-off times, as well as at weekends when the local children's football team is playing.

The section of the road outside my property is particularly narrow due to the pavement layout. When vehicles park directly opposite my driveway, it becomes extremely difficult to safely exit or enter my property. Visibility is significantly reduced, and with cars often parked along the full length of the road, this regularly results in blockages and near misses.

In addition, many parents use my driveway to turn their vehicles around, which is both intrusive and unsafe. Despite the school asking parents to park considerately, this guidance is frequently ignored.

At weekends, the situation worsens. Visitors to the football matches often park partially or fully on the pavement due to the narrowness of the road, making the pavement unusable for pedestrians and creating further hazards.

To help address these issues, I would be grateful if the council could consider installing white access protection lines opposite my driveway. This would help prevent vehicles from parking in a position that obstructs my ability to safely enter and exit my property.

I would appreciate any support or guidance you can offer on the next steps and whether an assessment can be arranged.

  • This has been passed to the Parking Services Team.

Subject to available resources, a civil enforcement officer (traffic warden) will go and assess, and if a vehicle is parked in contravention of a parking restriction, a penalty charge notice may be issued.
