Incorrect Installation of Control Box Horns Lane Pedestrian Crossing

Reported via desktop in the Footpath / pavement problem category anonymously at 17:15, Friday 20 February 2026

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8964953.

On the pavement area of the south side of the pedestrian crossing on Horns Lane an electrical control box has been installed. They have not installed this correctly. The box has not been installed at grade, instead they have built the ground up into a hill with the box on top. You can see this from all of the bare earth they have used. The box now towers over all and is aesthetically very unpleasing. More seriously the box now presents a risk to pedestrians as their position will be masked to on coming traffic from the east increasing the risk profile of pedestrians being hit by traffic, particularly if someone mistakenly steps on the crossing when the highway lights are green, or if a car decides to run a red light thinking no one is there. This box needs to be relocated away from the sightlines of the crossing and at the surrounding ground level. Risk of injury / risk of fatality to persons.
