Urgent Escalation: Pavement Obstruction Affecting Disabled Access – Beecham Road, High Wycombe

Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to formally escalate a serious and ongoing issue involving a vehicle obstructing a public footpath on Beecham Road, High Wycombe. Photographs attached clearly demonstrate that the pavement is fully blocked by the vehicle. The obstruction entirely prevents access for disabled individuals, wheelchair users, and people with children using prams, pushchairs, or shopping trolleys. There is no remaining safe passage on the footway, forcing pedestrians to step into the carriageway in order to pass. This creates an immediate safety risk and places vulnerable road users in danger. This situation raises significant concerns under the Equality Act 2010, which requires reasonable provision for disabled access to public routes and facilities. A public footpath that is rendered unusable due to illegal or inconsiderate parking represents a failure to maintain accessible pedestrian infrastructure. Given the clear evidence provided and the risk posed, I would request that this matter be treated as urgent, investigated without delay, and that appropriate enforcement action be taken. I would also appreciate confirmation of the steps that will be taken to prevent repeat occurrences at this location. Please confirm receipt of this escalation and advise on the outcome. Yours faithfully,
