Lady Attacked by Ram In Field

Yesterday morning (18/01/26) my wife assisted a lady who was taking her two dogs, both on a lead, who had accessed the footpath which goes across the filed via a stile on the Aylesbury Road. In the field were horses/ponies, sheep and a ram. The ram became agitated at seeing the dogs and penned the lady against the stile. One her dogs panicked and got loose from its lead in harness. When the lady tried to retrieve her dog the ram butted her, knocking her to the floor. My wife was passing on a run when the lady asked for help. My wife tried to restrain the ram, which was butting the lady on her head as she was on the ground, to allow the lady to get up. The lady was able to get up and get back across the stile to the road with one of her dogs. My wife went further down the road to a gate to the field to try and distract the ram so that the second dog could be retrieved. I then arrived at the scene after getting a call from my wife and walked up to the gate. Fortunately, the dog came up to the gate but was still very skittish and frightened. My wife climbed over the gate and eventually managed to lift the dog over the gate. The injured lady had blood streaming from a head wound but said she was able to make her way home from where she could get her injuries looked at. This is a very dangerous animal to have loose in the field and if there had not been a person passing to assist the lady who was on the ground this could have turned out a lot worse. This is a public footpath that anybody could quite rightly access without knowledge of the potential danger.
