Watermead Bus Bollards Broken - Dangerous for Pedestrians

Reported via desktop in the Bollards or railings category by W Dennis at 21:47, Fri 5 December 2025

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8508237.

I was nearly hit by a red van illegally entering the bus entrance to Watermead from Cleveland Park into Lark Vale here on the evening of 5/12/2025. Pedestrians and cyclists using the aqua way path here are at risk from motorists using this as a rat run. This is happening because the bollards are not working. Buckinghamshire Council is being negligent in not maintaining the bollards put in place to control this bus entrance. I am recording this incident to publicly record the issue again in case someone is injured and it helps them to take legal action against Buckinghamshire Council due to their lack of maintenance.

Updates

  • This has been passed to a Highways Officer to investigate the enquiry/issue.

An inspection will be carried out within the next 20 working days, if a replacement bollard/railing is required, this may take up to 12-14 weeks as we do not hold these items in stock. Please note, if the issue reported is a danger to the public, we will make the area safe until a permanent fix can be scheduled in.
