A413 near to Chalfont St Giles

Reported via mobile in the Temporary traffic lights problem category anonymously at 16:09, Sat 29 November 2025

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8480265.

This is beyond a joke. My photo shows that there are temporary lights on the A413 where a hole has been dug in the bank, that neither cuts off the footpath, nor impinges on the road itself. And yet there is single lane restrictions, and temporary lights! They have been there since Thursday and needless to say, no one has been working on the hole in the bank for at least 2 days. And what's more, the lights are not 'smart': they do not take account of variation in traffic flow. This is the 2nd time this month when Affinity Water has done this along the A413: the last time, (at the junction with Cherry Acre SL9 0SX) the lights stayed in position, with no one working on the hole in the bank for about 5 days, causing significant delays at peak time in particular. Surely it would be very easy to shut down the single lane limitation when no one is there. That they don't, leaves the impression that nobody cares about traffic inconvenience. I have photos of the traffic queues during the previous incident taken on 01\11
