Casden Road opposite pole number 855280
Reported via mobile in the Ditch issue category anonymously at 15:27, Friday 14 November 2025
Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8419953.
Council last cleared the soak-away channel into the ditch along the golf club several years ago. It now needs clearing out again - otherwise the surface water builds up on the road, cars pull over onto the right hand side of road to avoid it just before a blind left-hand bend. Please do not just send a man with a shovel as happened once! It needs proper clearing so the water can drain away quickly and not come down the drives of the houses opposite causing damage.

We know that an important part of any road network is the drainage system which is designed to carry water away from the road surface. As a general rule ditches along the side of the road are the responsibility of whoever owns the land on which they are situated, they should maintain and keep the ditch capable of carrying water away from the road.
The Highway Officer will carry out an inspection within 10 days and if it is the responsibility of Buckinghamshire Council and work is required, we will raise and order and have the work done.
If the responsibility is with the landowner, we will not use taxpayers money to carry out the work, we will write to the land owner and request they carry out the necessary work on their land.
