Unnecessary Roadwork traffic lights.
Reported via desktop in the Temporary traffic lights problem category anonymously at 14:10, Friday 10 October 2025
Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8279157.
Roadwork traffic lights setup and 2/3rds of the road is closed off. The hole is in the grass verge cordoned off with the blue barriers. This section of road is 3x vehicles wide due to the mid turning lane, I can see the need to cone off a small section of the road around the works for works vehicles to park, but do not see the need for 2/3rds of the road to be coned off with the traffic lights. Traffic can flow in both directions if the turning lane and right hand lane is used without the need for the lights. Also during peak times when this is causing the most traffic there are not any works being carried out. If the cordon and lights are required whilst works are being carried out, why cant they be set out in the morning prior to works and put away again in the evening on completion of the days works.
This is a regular occurrence across the county it causes undue traffic and is very frustrating for motorists. Please can you address. Thanks
