At the bottom of the steps on the public footpath leading from 146 Brands Hill Avenue to Hughenden Valley

Reported via desktop in the Other rights of way issue category by Chris Chilton at 13:38, Tue 30 September 2025

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8233464.

We have just had a gentleman fall and break his hip due to the nature of the bottom step. It is much to deep and at the bottom is a large mass of concrete at a 45-degree angle which gets slippery when wet. There needs to be another step added at the bottom and the angled slippery concrete needs to be removed. There should also be a handrail all the way down. It is missing half-way down on the right hand side (see both photos). Unfortunately, the dangerous nature of the bottom step caused a gentleman to slip and fall last week and he has broken his hip. This is a well-known danger-spot so hopefully we can get it fixed before winter.
