Updates

  • Almost all manhole covers have some form of identification on them, and it is likely that the manhole cover is owned by a utility company, who are legally responsible for maintaining it.

This report has been passed to the Highway Officer, who will carry out an inspection within the next 10 working days and if it is found to be the responsibility of Buckinghamshire Highways we will take the appropriate action. If, however, it is found to be the responsibility of the utility company we will report the issue to them, but please note we have no control regarding how long it will take to be fixed by the utility company.

  • Update

Buckinghamshire Highways operates two types of highway maintenance, both have the same objectives which are to put in place the right road and transport infrastructure to enable residents, visitors, and businesses to move around the county in a safe and efficient way.

  • 1. General Maintenance overseen by the Highway Local Area Technicians, who assess all customer enquiries and take the appropriate action.

    2. Capital Maintenance Projects, these are longer-term projects for maintaining the Council highways. The Capital Maintenance Projects are all agreed by elected members in Buckinghamshire and overseen by the Capital Maintenance Project Team.

The Local Area Technician has assessed this enquiry and forwarded the details to the Capital Maintenance Team as this is one of their bigger projects.
