Street nameplate to Middle Meadow entirely blocked

Reported via desktop in the Hedge problem category anonymously at 21:17, Wed 13 August 2025

Sent to Chalfont St Giles Parish Council 1 week, 1 day, 43 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 8022095.

Overgrowth from the hedge is completely blocking the nameplate for Middle Meadow on the left hand side as you enter the street.

Updates

  • This has been passed to the Highway Officer to assess, they will carry out an inspection within the next 10 working days.

If a replacement is required, we will order the new street name plate and instruct our contractors to carry out the work, it is not economically viable for us to order and replace individual street name plates in isolation, we package togethers works orders and carry out the work by area this means that in some cases works can take up to 12 weeks, but please be assured once you have reported an issue with a street name plate we will attend and resolve as soon as we can.

There may also be occasions when the issue reported will not be repaired as it has been classified as a minor defect and does not pose any risk to either the safety or the integrity of the highway, these are called minimum recording levels as specified in our Highways Safety Inspection Policy in these cases no action will be taken.

The process for naming a new street remains unchanged, requests from developers should be to email streetnaming@buckinghamshire.gov.uk.

    State changed to: For Triage

  • This area is much worse now than when I reported it in August. I see multiple reports on this garden overgrowth yet nothing gets done to make the owner clear the public footpaths. Pedestrians now forced to walk on muddy grass verges. This is a busy route to the nearby school.

    State changed to: Open
