Plants and weeds hang over into the thin path meaning you have to walk through the plants (or cycle) right next to a busy road. Is dangerous.

Hello,

When walking/cycling to work every day, there is a part of the path where plants are overgrowing onto the already thin path (see photos attached).

The issue is that because of the amount of overgrowth, I can’t actually cycle on this part safely. There are weeds and plants blocking the way, making it unsafe to ride through — I’d be riding straight into them, which could cause me to fall into the busy road right next to the path.

This means I have to walk with my bike at my side instead of riding. This isn't only a concern for bikes — for example, someone with a baby stroller or using a walking aid would also struggle. There just isn’t enough space, and I occasionally have to step one foot into the road to push through the plants with my bike at my side or just ride into and through the plants and vegetation hanging over.

Please ensure the path is cut back so it is safe to walk, cycle, or walk a dog along it.

If any of this is unclear, I'm happy to provide more details.

Thank you.

Updates

  • Our Urban and Rural grass cutting schedules start in April each year, full details of the grass cutting programme will be published on our website nearer the time.

Our works programme is very weather dependant and subject to delays. We therefore ask that you remain patient should there be delays or excessive growth in-between cuts.
