Overhanging Branches Blocking Footpath on Middlebrook Road

Reported via mobile in the Hedge problem category anonymously at 13:17, Thu 19 June 2025

Sent to Downley Parish Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7733856.

I’m writing to report a safety hazard on Middlebrook Road. As shown in the attached photo, a large bush or tree has fallen or collapsed, and its branches are now overhanging the footpath, blocking safe passage. The branches are thick and extend across the path at head and body height, making it unsafe for pedestrians, especially those with prams, wheelchairs, or limited mobility.

This is also the exact spot where a van is regularly parked, which further blocks visibility and makes it even more dangerous for anyone who tries to walk around the obstruction by stepping onto the road.

Please could this be fixed as soon as possible?

Updates

  • I would like to give an update that these branches have been cut down, so people can use the footpath. Which is great, thank you. However the branches are carefully laying on the footpath for all this time waiting for someone specific to pick them up???
