Stinging nettles on footpaths
Reported via desktop in the Grass cutting category by Judy Cyster at 13:13, Saturday 31 May 2025
Sent to Amersham Town Council 1 week, 1 day, 22 hours, 59 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 7642637.
Both foot paths from the circle end of Chestnut Close through to the foot path from Parkfield to Grimsdells corner full of stinging nettles 4 to 5 foot high. It’s barely passable. The schools go back on Monday and many children use the footpaths with short and summer dresses. It’s not good.

Our Urban and Rural grass cutting schedules start in April each year, full details of the grass cutting programme will be published on our website nearer the time.
Our works programme is very weather dependant and subject to delays. We therefore ask that you remain patient should there be delays or excessive growth in-between cuts.

All wild birds are protected. This includes their nests (whilst in use or being built) as well as any eggs the nest may contain. Under the Wildlife & Countryside Act 1981 (as amended), it is an offence to:
- intentionally kill, injure or take any wild bird
- intentionally damage, destroy or take the nest of any wild bird while it is in use or being built (nests of golden eagle, white tailed eagle and osprey are protected all year round)
- intentionally destroy an egg of any wild bird
- intentionally or recklessly disturb certain wild birds or their dependent young while they are nesting (including disturbance of nesting young)
