Works not completed

Reported via desktop in the Blocked drain category anonymously at 08:58, Monday 12 May 2025

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7554264.

Friday 9th May 2025 your contractors attended Cores End Road to clear the slit traps and jet the drainage system which is clogged due to tree debris. Having gone to the expense of this and traffic lights they completed less than a third of the works meaning we still have completely blocked drains on both sides of the road extending all the way to Highfield Road. Do not close this report until the works have been completed as they are imperative.

Updates

  • This has been passed to the Highway Officer to investigate.

We know that an important part of any road network is the drainage system which is designed to carry water away from the road surface. Even when a gully is clean and well maintained it will only cope with a certain volume of water at one time, a sudden and heavy downpour can still cause flooding especially if the road is in a low lying area.

The Highway Officer is only able to inspect the drain when the water has cleared away, this will be done within 10 days and if required, an order will be raised to clear the drain.
