On ramp leading to 20 Badger Way

Reported via mobile in the Manhole cover broken/missing category anonymously at 19:28, Tuesday 15 April 2025

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7440665.

There has been someone come out but they didn't fix anything, they cable tied the grates together whoch isn't any good. The cement it sits on is all broken and now further damage is being caused by the surrounding brickwork. The entire drain needs re pointing. The grates flick up as you drive over them. This is a major safety issue as there are lots of children that play on this road and someone is going to get injured. If the grate flicks up under a car it will also cause a significant amount of damage - are the council willing to pay for this if it happens to our car. This is now the second time I have reported the same issue.

Updates

  • Almost all manhole covers have some form of identification on them, and it is likely that the manhole cover is owned by a utility company, who are legally responsible for maintaining it.

This report has been passed to the Highway Officer, who will carry out an inspection within the next 10 working days and if it is found to be the responsibility of Buckinghamshire Highways we will take the appropriate action. If, however, it is found to be the responsibility of the utility company we will report the issue to them, but please note we have no control regarding how long it will take to be fixed by the utility company.
