Bottleneck at school pick up/drop off times

Reported via iOS in the Parking on double yellow lines category anonymously at 09:10, Thursday 20 March 2025

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7307603.

Cars parked all the way along the side of Missenden Abbey grounds with no gaps for manoeuvring . As parking is allowed one side of this road during school pick up and drop off times any cars coming from Great Missenden high street have to blindly pull out on the slight bend here. If a car is coming the other way which until you have pulled out you wouldnt know this inevitably causes a stalemate situation and the traffic gets backed up here very quickly. This also has a knock on effect of cars trying to exit and enter the Misbourne school car park. You simply don’t know until it’s too late and are then faced with a stalemate situation. There needs to be some sort of road management (double yellow lines maybe?) to prevent this from happening. I witnessed a parked car almost get hit this morning as the driver had to get as far over to allow the traffic to pass which had been sitting stationery for almost 10 minutes. This is a daily occurance at school pick up and drop off times.
