A Highway Officer will carry out an inspection within the next 10 working days, some weeds due to their location may require a specialist equipment for safety reasons, if your Highway Officer is unable to clear the weeds on site, they will arrange for the specialist team carry out the work, which in some cases can take up to 28 days.

Under Section 131 of the Highways Act 1980 it is an offence to cause damage to the Public Highway. If the owner of the vehicle can be identified we will write to them and request that they stop parking the vehicle on the Public Highway and, make good the verge with top soil and seed so as to remove the cause or likelihood of danger, obstruction or interference to the users of the Highway.
In most cases the work is carried out very quickly by the owner/occupier, but in some instances this can be a lengthier process but be assured we will follow due process to ensure the work is carried out.
