Pavement verge requires siding out
Reported via desktop in the Hedge problem category by Barry John Cross at 18:03, Sunday 2 February 2025
Sent to Wooburn and Bourne End Parish Council 2 days, 2 hours, 11 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 7073983.
The section of Cores End Road, between Millboard Road and Furlong Road requires siding out due to the encroachment of soil, dead leaves, ground ivy, brambles and the shrubs. I have cleared three separate sections of this issue to highlight the problem. The three photos that are attached, indicate the width of the encroachment and the reduction of the pavement width. The width of the pavement is so narrow that only one person can walk down the pavement and very close to a busy road. Obviously, with cars parking on the opposite side of the road to this issue, the road being very busy, cars and lorries are having to navigate close to the kerb to let other cars and lorries pass, this is a health and safety issue for pedestrians, blind people and people using mobility scooter, etc. It would only take someone to trip on the vegetation runners or over balance and they could possibly fall in to the road. The siding out of this section of verge, would reclaim between one and three feet of pavement in places, allowing a safer route for pedestrians. The strimming of the vegetation will not be enough to deal with this issue, it requires a good siding out, to increase the pavements width for years to come. Many thanks.
