Trying to pay at a machine

Reported via mobile in the Faulty pay machine category anonymously at 09:11, Tuesday 21 January 2025

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 7009569.

Yesterday I tried to pay via credit card at machine-70p for 3hours,at around 12.30 pm; I had beforehand checked on line if I could pay by cash, which is my preference, but was told by a regular user of the car park that all machines were cashless. The first time I tried with my card, I had no acknowledgement that it had worked, so tried again; another customer assured me that it was ok.

Having checked my credit card bill this morning, the 70p has not been taken, so now I am very concerned, since I do not want a large bill, especially when I did what I thought was correct. I find it very stressful-I am 74 years old, having had a cancer diagnosis (can provide proof) and do not need anymore stress. Please can you tell me what I can do? Thank you.
