Dangerous positioning of traffic lights

Reported via mobile in the Traffic lights & crossings problems with timings category anonymously at 12:13, Thu 12 December 2024

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6853619.

These lights are just a few metres into Churchill Avenue, and cars coming from Mandeville are often not expecting them, or notice them as they accelerate left out of the roundabout with Stadium Approach. I cross them on a daily basis to work, and can never set foot on the crossing when the lights go red (and green for pedestrians) as every week, a car accelerates through the red lights, meaning I would have been knocked down or run over. This is so dangerous and one day a child or adult will be knocked down as they just assume traffic will stop - but it DOES NOT! Please can you consider a remedy and I appreciate this might cause difficulty....even a warning on the lights to pedestraians to double check could be helpful.
