Location is offshoot of Clifden Road. roadway around and in front of Clifden Arms which runs towards field gate. This area floods badly and the water runs into my garden and downhill to my house. On the most recent occasion the water rose to the top of the door sills. An industrial pump was the only thing that saved my house from flooding. The pump had to run all day to keep the water level down. If I had not been at home, or had not been able to borrow quickly an indistrial pump, my house would have been under a foot of water. This area regularly floods and we often have a small stream running down the garden.

Updates

This has been passed to the Highway Officer to investigate.
We know that an important part of any road network is the drainage system which is designed to carry water away from the road surface. Even when a gully is clean and well maintained it will only cope with a certain volume of water at one time, a sudden and heavy downpour can still cause flooding especially if the road is in a low lying area.
The Highway Officer is only able to inspect the drain when the water has cleared away, this will be done within 10 days and if required, an order will be raised to clear the drain.
