Junction of Chafont Avenue and Elizabeth Avenue

Reported via mobile in the Parking on double yellow lines category anonymously at 12:19, Thu 14 November 2024

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6730625.

Constant Dangerous and Antisocial parking Vehicle constantly parked on double yellows which are supposed to keep the corner clear, at a busy and dangerous junction. This is a joke. 7 days a week we have a major hazard at a busy road junction. This has caused at least one accident and many near misses. This is very busy junction, being one of two links to the station car park. It is also used by single and double decker buses and an assortment large vehicle accessing the A404 westbound. Today we have two cars driving across a pavement and parking on the verge on double yellows. Waiting restrictions (shown by yellow lines) apply to the entire width of the public highway from the centre of the road to the boundary on the same side of the road. Therefore, these vehicles should be ticketed or towed! Double lines apply!!! Likewise, we have single yellow lines locally to stop station parking, but if this persists everyone will do the same. The lefthand car, despite having a drive and garage, invariably parks on the corner. Sometimes 3 or 4 feet into the road. Often facing the wrong way. It abuses a disabled parking permit, always having it set to 11am. Has lately taken to parking off road and even obstructing the pavement. Cars coming down Elizabeth Avenue, sometimes too fast, rushing to the station, turn down Chalfont Avenue and are often confronted by vehicles coming the other way, on the wrong side of the road because of this dangerous and illegal parking. All you need is a cyclist in the mix and…. Well! Buses have to drive over the pavement in order to get round the corner due to the inconsiderate parking! Pease do something. Make our streets safe!
