London Road Pedestrain Crossing is too short to safely cross the road

Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights & crossings problems with timings category anonymously at 12:29, Tue 15 October 2024

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6617277.

Green Light for pedestrians is way to short to safely cross the road. For me alone is just about enough time but only if I start walking before I actully get a green light. If I am with my child I have been caught so many times still on the road as cars were getting green. With young children it is important to teach to cross the road when its green not to check red light for cars ! This crossing is located right next to the park so effectively most pedestrians are families with children and dog walkers. We literlly need 5 seconds more its not a lot to ask especially that there is a long waiting time to get a green light (which is fine I get this is a busy road and use it for commuting too). Also there is no sound to ensure commencing crossing on time. You will often find a lot of people running across the junction or the road to cross the road, can we make this one crossing safe and reliable? Especially in the spirit of the LCWIP Plans, thank you
