Driveway opposite the end of cokes lane that joins the main road

Reported via mobile in the Hedge problem category anonymously at 10:32, Fri 11 October 2024

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6578655.

Exiting the drive opposite cokes lane is very difficult and dangerous as you cannot see the cars coming from the direction of St Giles. It’s been trimmed back before but it’s also the trees and shrubs that needs a harsh cut back.

Updates

  • All wild birds are protected. This includes their nests (whilst in use or being built) as well as any eggs the nest may contain. Under the Wildlife & Countryside Act 1981 (as amended), it is an offence to:
    • intentionally kill, injure or take any wild bird
    • intentionally damage, destroy or take the nest of any wild bird while it is in use or being built (nests of golden eagle, white tailed eagle and osprey are protected all year round)
    • intentionally destroy an egg of any wild bird
    • intentionally or recklessly disturb certain wild birds or their dependent young while they are nesting (including disturbance of nesting young)
Although no dates are legally stated between which hedges cannot be trimmed, cut, laid or coppiced, the main bird breeding season is recognised as being between 1 March and 31 July which we adhere to. Please note, if the issue reported is classified by our Highway Officer as an emergency, arrangements will be made to make the hedge safe for both road and pedestrian users in line with our Highways Safety Inspection Policy.

  • (Update

Buckinghamshire Highways Inspectors carry out monthly Highways Safety Inspection Policy on all A and B roads across the County, they will identify any safety defects and arrange to have the appropriate action taken.

A Roads are classed as major roads that link regional towns and cities. They are also sometimes referred to as 'trunk' roads, these can be either single or dual-carriageways and are found in both rural and urban areas.

B Road have lower traffic densities than the main trunk roads, or A roads. This classification has nothing to do with the width or quality of the physical road, and B roads can range from dual carriageways to single track roads with passing places.
