Hedge is completely overgrown around my property and encroaches on public footpath

Reported via mobile in the Hedge problem category anonymously at 21:44, Sun 6 October 2024

Sent to Waddesdon Parish Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6558894.

The council recently cut the hedges opposite my neighbours property opposite no9 but left the adjoining hedges surrounding my property totally overgrown even though I have previously complained about it before. The hedging prevents my neighbours and I accessing the service path to the back gates of properties no11 and 15. It is so overgrown the thorns from brambles present a dangerous hazard. It is a mass of brambles and overgrown weeds some of which are now forming into trees. It has not been cut for 3-4 years. It was previously maintained by the council. I have lived here for 10 years and I keep trying to trim the worst brambles on the side of the path as my elderly neighbour needs the path to put out his bin, I cannot and should not have to do this, it is not my land. It is insulting that the council did half a job and left the bushes surrounding my property again even after I have lodged a complaint before and furthermore where the bushes have been cut by the council that area surrounds property of a parish council employee.

Updates

  • I have been told that FAIRHIVE are responsible for the land and its upkeep. The Parish council referred me to them. FAIRHIVE have ignored my emails. Still waiting … possibly about 5 years since they last trimmed the hedges.
