Inconsiderate parking over double yellow lines, too close to junctions and on bends

I am writing to raise concerns about dangerous and inconsiderate parking along both Chiltern Road and Oakway in Chesham Bois, mostly around school pick-up and drop-off times. The area is home to two schools—The Beacon and Our Lady’s Catholic Primary School—which contributes to significant traffic congestion during these periods.
While I understand the necessity for parents to park on nearby roads due to limited parking facilities, mainly at Our Lady’s Catholic Primary School, I am concerned by the behaviour of some drivers. Many vehicles park on bends and too close to junctions, causing substantial traffic jams. For instance, this morning, cars were parked bumper to bumper, turning Chiltern Road into a one-way street. As a result, vehicles were backed up on Oakway (which also became a one way street) and in both directions on Chiltern Road, causing stand-offs between drivers. This situation led to cars mounting the pavement, which is a regular occurence and particularly dangerous for pedestrians, especially young children walking to school who may be less aware of the traffic.
The problem has been exacerbated by the fact that a few years ago, after resurfacing work was completed on Chiltern Road, the double yellow lines extending from Amersham Road on to Chiltern Road were repainted but much shorter than before. Now, when driving towards Amersham Road, vehicles are forced to drive on the wrong side of the road, when approaching the junction as the majority of time there is always a car parked there. This creates a hazardous situation at the junction, as there is little room to pull back on to the correct side of the road in order to exit the junction because space is limited. This causes visibility issues for both drivers pulling out on to the main road, as well as those turning into Chilten Road, who may be unaware there are cars blocking the road they are turning into. This often in turn results in traffic backing up onto Amersham Road.

This has been passed to the Parking Services Team.
Subject to available resources, a civil enforcement officer (traffic warden) will go and assess, and if a vehicle is parked in contravention of a parking restriction, a penalty charge notice may be issued.
