Parking causing endangerment to children and pedestrians

Reported via mobile in the Parking in a restricted space category anonymously at 13:02, Wed 2 October 2024

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6542598.

The volume of cars parking opposite and around Tyler’s green village hall has become incredibly dangerous. Cars of residents, zenopa office workers and parents/care givers of school children clog church road with parked cars. This obscures oncoming drivers along church road from seeing children (especially) and pedestrians who are looking to cross church road from the track onto bank road and up to the first school. As a parent and resident I have witnessed this first hand with both my own young children and others. My daughter has almost been hit 3 times already this year. It is an accident waiting to happen. I understand there are double yellow lines due to be painted around the parish rooms. However these will only push more parking onto the track and surrounding roads, creating more visualisation problems.

I have seen children stepping out between parked cars to cross church road and it is exceptionally dangerous. This road should also be a 20mph and have bumps to ensure drivers slow and give them time to spot the many school children, dog walkers and pedestrians who use this route to access the commons and do the school run from the new road and Ashley drive areas as well as those walking between the first and the middle schools. Please act before someone is hurt.
