An unauthorised camp of caravans has been set up on the Wing Recreational ground, they gained unlawful access with bolt cutters. The people creating this camp are also using the field behind it, it is unknown at this time whether there are animals grazing on this land. The recreational ground they are occupying is regularly used by local sports teams as well as the residents of Wing, with this occupation people are scared to use the facilities as the people have already been aggressive towards locals. This has been reported as an incident to the police.

Today 30/07/24 at 11.40 an unauthorised camp of at least 7 caravan and vehicles has been set up in the Wing Sports and Recreational Ground, and have also accessed the field immediately behind which has a well used walking trail. They are accessing the pavilion and tennis changing rooms as facilities for water and toilets. The campers have been aggressive toward locals, the recreation ground is used daily by local sports teams and residents so we are anticipating a lot of confrontation when people attempt to use the facilities. We believe they gained access to this site using bolt cutters- there is no ‘gate’. They have parked their caravans along the tree line of the recreation ground- the camp is very visible from the main road. There are lots of children among the campers, it is unknown if there are animals with them or not but since they are fencing off parts of the field behind I suspect they mean to graze their horses on that site.
