FixMyStreet ref: 5989150. Follow up information required.

Reported via desktop in the Manhole cover broken/missing category anonymously at 20:13, Thu 27 June 2024

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6164504.

Thanks for handing over responsibility to a utilities company to progress, however providing me with a list of a dozen utility providers doesn't help me with understanding who I am supposed to follow this up with. Please could you provide the name of the utility company you have assigned repair to? Thank you.

P.S Would you consider reviewing your template responses to similar reports such it that it doesn't leave the respondent guessing to whom you've asked to resolve and having to open another fixmystreet request to get the correct information?

Updates

  • Almost all manhole covers have some form of identification on them, and it is likely that the manhole cover is owned by a utility company, who are legally responsible for maintaining it.

This report has been passed to the Highway Officer, who will carry out an inspection within the next 10 working days and if it is found to be the responsibility of Buckinghamshire Highways we will take the appropriate action. If, however, it is found to be the responsibility of the utility company we will report the issue to them, but please note we have no control regarding how long it will take to be fixed by the utility company.
