Wexham street from outside Wexham park hospital all the way towards berry farm and Nuffield health fitness centre

Reported via mobile in the Hedge problem category anonymously at 19:38, Fri 21 June 2024

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6138690.

There are stingy nettles, branches as well as large fallen branches obstructing the entire path from Wexham park hospital to Nuffield health fitness centre (Wexham street), my 11 month old baby and I had to walk partly in the road as that is the only footpath and it has been like this for weeks, I know it was no mow May in some areas however for the safety of pedestrians and also drivers, this needs to be cut back quite severely, I need to push my baby along this path in her pram 4 times a week as it’s our only way to commute to her nursery and my job and this path isn’t maintained well (first visited in January and since has always been very overgrown). Please can this be cut back and cleared so the pavement is useable and not scary and dangerous for me, my little girl and all other people needing to use this route as there is none other available. I know you started cutting grass back in April 2024 however it’s now almost July and this particular street has not been addressed. Thank you

  • All wild birds are protected. This includes their nests (whilst in use or being built) as well as any eggs the nest may contain. Under the Wildlife & Countryside Act 1981 (as amended), it is an offence to:
    • intentionally kill, injure or take any wild bird
    • intentionally damage, destroy or take the nest of any wild bird while it is in use or being built (nests of golden eagle, white tailed eagle and osprey are protected all year round)
    • intentionally destroy an egg of any wild bird
    • intentionally or recklessly disturb certain wild birds or their dependent young while they are nesting (including disturbance of nesting young)
Although no dates are legally stated between which hedges cannot be trimmed, cut, laid or coppiced, the main bird breeding season is recognised as being between 1 March and 31 July which we adhere to. Please note, if the issue reported is classified by our Highway Officer as an emergency, arrangements will be made to make the hedge safe for both road and pedestrian users in line with our Highways Safety Inspection Policy.
