Corner at bottom of east side of St Hubert's Close, on corner near #9, #29 and #16

Reported via desktop in the Salt bin damaged category by Diana Granger-Taylor at 18:58, Thursday 13 June 2024

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6105375.

Broken salt box - salt now leaching out into surrounding area, especially when raining. Seems to have worsened in the last week, as wasn't noticeable earlier. I think the box has been there for over 20 years, so the plastic may be already cracking from age and weathering.

Updates

  • This has been passed to our Winter Maintenance Team.

If a salt bin is damaged beyond repair, we will order a new one. But this can take up to 28 days during the winter months when demand is high, or longer if stocks are low.

  • An order has been raised to repair the issue reported, this will be a permanent repair to be carried out as soon as possible. However, there are occasions when a temporary repair is carried out for safety reasons until such time as we can mobilise resources to make the repair permanent.

To ensure the highway network remains as safe as possible we will continue to carry out our regular Highways Safety Inspections which will include this issue until such times as the permanent repair is made
