Corner of Barley Close and Rose Avenue
Reported via mobile in the Parking on double yellow lines category anonymously at 17:09, Fri 24 May 2024
Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6017433.
There are daily incidents of people stopping on double yellow lines in Barley Close, Rose Avenue, Jackson Court and Azalea Close whilst dropping off children or picking up children from school. Often for extended periods at peak times around 14h45 till 15h15 on school days in term time.
Despite this being reported multiple times over several years there has never been enforcement of the parking regulations in any meaningful or prolonged way to deter such parking practices.
Such behaviour is dangerous as it causes blockages of the carriageway and does not allow cars to pull in to let others pass on Rose Avenue, nor does it allow full and free access and egress to and from Barley Close, Jackson Court or Azalea Close.
This is a danger to students and motorists alike particularly as vehicles often park in such a way as it blocks pavements forcing pedestrians to use the road to walk in.
Only enforcement by police and civic enforcement officers will solve this problem.
When drivers are asked politely to move badly parked vehicles, drivers become aggressive and refuse causing altercations with local residents.
One day a student or pedestrian will be killed or seriously injured because of such bad parking practices.
It has been an ongoing issue for way too long without any action.
Please, please can something be done about this.

This has been passed to the Parking Services Team.
Subject to available resources, a civil enforcement officer (traffic warden) will go and assess, and if a vehicle is parked in contravention of a parking restriction, a penalty charge notice may be issued.
