Unauthorised Roadworks

For some reason roadworks have begun at night without notice. Unable to report this under the roadworks section as you disable the function to continue. Please explain why these are happening and keeping the entire house and neighbours awake when it could have been done during the day with minor disruption. These must be unauthorised as no sane person would allow pneumatic drills to be operating this late on a weekday.
