Big metal boards serious near miss for pedestrians,Accident or injury could be possible.

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5684452.

This is the third time i am reporting this issue,It looks like there is no action has been taken as the boards are still sitting there and causing a disruption to public. I havent received any communication so far about this issue after reporting nearly 3-4 months ago Please see below and let us know what action has been taken so far before I file the PIL against council

These big metal sign boards has been sitting there from the last two years,There was a storm two years ago and boards were fallen off from the pole.This is very busy footpath area used by school children’s to go to lent rise school and there heavy metal boards are taking the space and this could be serious near miss .

  • The report has been passed to the Highway Officer, who will carry out an inspection of the issue within 10 working days, emergency defects will be corrected or made safe at the time of the inspection, if reasonably practicable to do so. In this context, making safe may constitute displaying warning notices, coning‐off or fencing‐off to protect the public from the defect or other suitable action. If the inspection team cannot make safe the defect at the time of inspection, then they will instigate the relevant emergency call procedures to ensure appropriate resources are mobilised to make the defect safe.

    There may also be occasions when the issue reported will not be repaired as it has been classified as a minor defect and does not pose any risk to either the safety or the integrity of the highway, these are called minimum recording levels as specified in our Highways Safety Inspection Policy.

  • An order has been raised to repair the issue reported, this will be a permanent repair to be carried out as soon as possible. However, there are occasions when a temporary repair is carried out for safety reasons until such time as we can mobilise resources to make the repair permanent.

    To ensure the highway network remains as safe as possible we will continue to carry out our regular Highways Safety Inspections which will include this issue until such times as the permanent repair is made
