Previous report ignored

Reported via mobile in the Sign problem category anonymously at 11:46, Thu 29 February 2024

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5648583.

I previously reported this issue on 30.01.2024 [ref: 5510107] but the report was closed and no action was taken. Why not? Without the sign in place [it is currently lying flat on the ground by the nearest lamppost] it is hard for motorists to know that they have reached Bookerhill Road as they drive up New Road. If you ignore reports like this, what is the point of going to the trouble of making them? Please, can this be fixed now.

Updates

  • This has been passed to the Highway Officer to investigate, they will carry out an inspection within the next 10 working days.

All our roads are subject to safety inspections, and this includes identifying any road signs that are badly damaged or degraded so we may already have a job raised to resolve it, if this is the case we will update you that it is a duplicate job/enquiry.

If we were not aware of this issue, we will update you on what action will be taken, this may include adding the road markings to a package of works for the location to be completed at a later date.

There may also be occasions when the issue reported will not be repaired as it has been classified as a minor defect and does not pose any risk to either the safety or the integrity of the highway, these are called minimum recording levels as specified in our Highways Safety Inspection Policy in these cases no action will be taken.

  • An order has been raised to repair the issue reported, this will be a permanent repair to be carried out as soon as possible. However, there are occasions when a temporary repair is carried out for safety reasons until such time as we can mobilise resources to make the repair permanent.

To ensure the highway network remains as safe as possible we will continue to carry out our regular Highways Safety Inspections which will include this issue until such times as the permanent repair is made
