6 drains - all completely blocked

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council 46 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 5592601.
Outside the farm gates there are 6 drains in total all completely blocked. Because this is the lowest point and all nearby drains are also blocked this area will flood with even the slightest rain with the flood flowing into field and risks property damage at nearby house. The amount of silt, mud and stone deposits left by the floods now means the drains cannot even be seen.

This has been passed to the Highway Officer to investigate.
We know that an important part of any road network is the drainage system which is designed to carry water away from the road surface. Even when a gully is clean and well maintained it will only cope with a certain volume of water at one time, a sudden and heavy downpour can still cause flooding especially if the road is in a low lying area.
The Highway Officer is only able to inspect the drain when the water has cleared away, this will be done within 10 days and if required, an order will be raised to clear the drain.

An order has been raised to repair the issue reported, this will be a permanent repair to be carried out as soon as possible. However, there are occasions when a temporary repair is carried out for safety reasons until such time as we can mobilise resources to make the repair permanent.
To ensure the highway network remains as safe as possible we will continue to carry out our regular Highways Safety Inspections which will include this issue until such times as the permanent repair is made
