Drains on cores end road from virginia cottage to la maison

Reported via desktop in the Blocked drain category anonymously at 15:15, Sun 21 January 2024

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5470918.

Hi there.. firstly thanks very much indeed for the work you had done along our stretch of road of january 2nd and 3rd, very much appreciated. However, just to let you know that the job wasn't completed, as the most important drains [ie the ones outside our properties] weren't touched, and i know as i was keeping a very close eye on things. they did the drain/silt trap outside Burne Cottage but then none of the other ones between there and the houses down the road towards La Maison, so it wuld be really good if we could get that final piece of work done, as without that being done there's basically no point them having done all the other drains further up, as it's the ones outside our properties which are the most important. The people doing the work were lovely chaps and very polite so no complaints there, but we're desperate for the vital final 20% of the job to be completed.. thanks!

  • This has been passed to the Local Area Technician to investigate.

We know that an important part of any road network is the drainage system which is designed to carry water away from the road surface. Even when a gully is clean and well maintained it will only cope with a certain volume of water at one time, a sudden and heavy downpour can still cause flooding especially if the road is in a low lying area.
