End of Askett Lane

Reported via desktop in the Flooding on a road/footpath category by Duncan Bull at 22:05, Saturday 13 January 2024

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5439272.

Since Swish Fibre have installed their ducting under the lane, in heavy rain, the water at the top of the lane (near Askett Village Lane) now, instead of gently moving down Askett Lane takes the easy route, using the Swish Fibre ducting, and results in fountains outside Meadowcrift Cottage and Meadowcroft Farmhouse and a very large "lake" as the drain gulley along the footpath has been blocked. Before Swish Fibre, the drainage was gentle and cleared withing an hour or so. Now we have the full bore of drainage from the top of the lane, resulting in large flooded areas. Ideally, the drain gulley alonside the footpath should be reopened.
