Tenzing Dr junction Hillary Rd - two and counting pot holes
Reported via iOS in the Pothole category anonymously at 14:59, Sun 26 November 2023
Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5254159.
Two road defects have started to form at this location (on Tenzing within 5 metres of the junction with Hillary). Both potholes are because of the failed road surface and both are increasing in size on a frequent basis and will only get worse with rain/ice/snow. Please get them patched/fixed before they become a bigger danger to cycles and motorcyclists

This has been passed to the local area technician to investigate the enquiry/issue regarding a pothole/road surface.
During winter months we receive a very high number of reports regarding potholes or a poor road surface, it's easy to assume that potholes are formed due to roads being poorly maintained but that is not usually the case. There are many factors that can cause potholes, particularly during the winter months when water seeps in through cracks in the road surface, collecting underneath and when the water freezes, it expands and creates cracks in the road surface.
Our priority is always the safety of road users, so in some cases during busy periods a permanent repair is not always possible immediately. However, temporary repairs are a way to ensure the area is safe until such times as we can return to make a permanent repair.

Update
Buckinghamshire Highways operates two methods for safety defect identification; proactively by Highway Inspectors who identify safety defects in line with Highways Safety Inspection Policy and reactively by Local Area Technicians following reports from the public.Buckinghamshire Highways are responsible for the maintenance of 2,200 miles of road and 1,500 miles of footpaths in Buckinghamshire, this means we have to prioritise works based on a set criteria which includes issues which may present an immediate danger, or significant inconvenience to users of the roads/footpaths, or to the structural condition of the highway and assets contained with the highway boundary. It is regrettably the case that the limited annual funding available to Buckinghamshire Council each year is insufficient to address all defects identified. For this reason, whilst priority defects will receive a repair within appropriate timescales as dictated by the above policy, more minor defects such as the defect you have reported may not be immediately scheduled for repair.
Please be assured, we will continue to inspect all roads in line with our Highways Safety Inspection Policy.
State changed to: No further action
