Commercial vehicle parked in residents bays

Reported via desktop in the Parking in a restricted space category by Daniel Murkin at 15:42, Fri 24 November 2023

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5250093.

An open-sided double axle Mercedes highway maintenance vehicle KN72 FLK has been routinely parked overnight in one of the residents' single parking bays (fourth one along) in Sheridan Close now for a month, often fully-laden. I believe this space may be one of those allocated for the use of occupants of these flats.

For about one third of its length, the drivers cab end, the vehicle projects beyond the standard parking bay and restricts normal turning movements within the head of the cul-de-sac especially for delivery vans, but potentially also for emergency and refuse vehicles. It also restricts me when turning in straight on to my driveway (No. 8) if arriving back home late in the evening.

The parking is overnight, typically between 1730-0530 hours Mon-Sat and all day on Sundays.

Updates

  • This has been passed to the Parking Services Team.

Subject to available resources, a civil enforcement officer (traffic warden) will go and assess, and if a vehicle is parked in contravention of a parking restriction, a penalty charge notice may be issued.
