Persistent Parking Violations on Double Yellow Lines

Reported via desktop in the Parking on double yellow lines category anonymously at 13:21, Tue 21 November 2023

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5237312.

There has been a consistent problem with vehicles being parked on double yellow lines for extended periods, causing considerable inconvenience and potential danger to other road users and pedestrians, particularly in and around Leigh Street.

These vehicles, often displaying 'for sale' signs, are not only parked illegally but are also causing obstructions. In some cases, traffic cones are being placed around these cars, further complicating the situation. This persistent violation of parking regulations is leading to difficulties for cars trying to exit Leigh Street, substantially increasing the risk of accidents.

Moreover, it's important to note that these parking practices are hindering access for emergency services, which is unacceptable and poses a serious risk to public safety.

Despite numerous complaints from residents, it appears that the council has not taken adequate measures to address this issue. The lack of enforcement of the double yellow lines is a growing concern. It is imperative that the council acknowledges its responsibility in this matter and takes immediate action to resolve it.

Given the severity of the situation and the potential for accidents, I urge the council to prioritize this issue and implement effective measures to enforce parking regulations in the area. Swift action is essential to prevent any further escalation of risks and to ensure the safety and well-being of all road users and residents.
