Blocked drain with half the grate missing.

Reported via mobile in the Blocked drain category anonymously at 12:50, Sat 18 November 2023

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5226835.

The drain on the path outside number 59 has half the grate missing which is a trip hazard and the drain is blocked so the path floods when it rains. The old lady that lives there has dementia and has almost fallen twice in the last week when leaving her house due to this damaged drain. It did have weeds growing in it but these were removed at the beginning of this week.

Updates

  • This has been passed to the Local Area Technician to investigate.

We know that an important part of any road network is the drainage system which is designed to carry water away from the road surface. Even when a gully is clean and well maintained it will only cope with a certain volume of water at one time, a sudden and heavy downpour can still cause flooding especially if the road is in a low lying area.
