Large tree branch now overhanging lay-by to side of road
Reported via desktop in the Overhanging branch/tree category anonymously at 20:58, Thu 16 November 2023
Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5221445.
As per previous report, this large tree branch is overhanging the lay-by near to where cars park to drop off children to the nearest school.
Prior to the last storm system, this large branch was a normal branch under which there was significant clearance to the lay-by (given often coaches and other high vehicles do park in the lay-by at this location). After the last storm system, it is however now hanging much lower, as shown in the picture, and was partially into the road, albeit passing traffic has now pulled sections over hanging the road off.
I believe the tree to which it is attached, which is on the sloped bank to the side of the lay-by, is partially uprooted. But even if it is not, this branch has significantly moved in the last storm system to the point it appears dangerous and dangerously low to the lay-by.
This has been passed to our maintenance team who will carry out an assessment of the tree and provide an update within 28 days.
